'A Perfect Day Elise'
A queasy rumble, a raw-knuckled clatter, a throbbing keyboard and Polly’s back in action after three years of seclusion and side projects. This is perhaps her most polished pop creation yet, with fewer weeping emotional sores or ungovernable passions than before. Admittedly there’s something nasty going on in the song’s depths, some kind of wacked romantic assignation at a remote hotel, but the surface is all shrill harmonies and controlled panic. Good to have her back
